Nunsmere Hall offers a full range of leisure pursuits, including archery, clay pigeon shooting and laser shooting. A comprehensive package which includes equipment, tuition and supervision can be provided. For those preferring something more relaxed, we offer croquet on the beautiful lawns in front of the house. Alternatively, we will be happy to arrange for you any of the many activities available in the local area, such as off-road driving and hot air ballooning.
Chester Race Course, Cheshire Polo Club and Oulton Park Race Circuit are all a short drive away. Also nearby are several excellent 18-hole golf courses, including Pryors Hayes, Portal, Eaton and Vicars Cross.
There are many other places to visit nearby. Chester has one of the prettiest city centres in Britain, rich with old, black and white buildings. There is a wide selection of unusual and exclusive shops, many to be found on the unique, medieval Rows above street level. Stroll along the Roman city walls or take a boat trip on the River Dee.
If you’re an animal lover you will certainly wish to visit Chester Zoo, one of the largest in the country, and also the Blue Planet Aquarium.
There are many lovely stately homes and gardens to explore, including Tatton Park, Lyme Park,. Arley Hall, Cholmondeley Castle and Ness, plus the renowned Stapeley Water Gardens, near Nantwich.
Arley Horse Trial & Country Fair - 17 and 18 May 2008
Now in its 5th year the Arley Country Fair will once again be running in tandem with the British Eventing Horse Trials in 2008. In the past this event has attracted up to 8,000 visitors and spectators, all intent on celebrating and engaging in all that rural life has to offer and enjoying the thrilling spectacle of over 400 competing horses and riders.
